Sidebar gadgets problem?

Hi, I am using Windows Vista. i have a problem with my sidebar. Sidebar is working i.e., i can and remove gadgets, but the gadgets are not working. I can see a blank outlined box for the gadgets or a blank white coloured box. If i click on the gadget settings tool.....a new pop-up arrives for the settings but nothing in that.....simply the bottom 'OK' and 'CANCEL' buttons. Can u please help me out.
